Packing

So, the day after tomorrow we will be off to Hawaii. These last few days have been a blur of packing and tough decisions about what to keep, what to throw away, and what to leave here. Here's the best box that we are taking with us. Gotta take the important things like Splenda, right? God only knows how much it costs on the island.

While it's certainly been stressful deciding what to take, there is also a sense of relief as well. Today I took a TON of stuff to Goodwill; three huge black bags of clothes, a couple boxes of books, and some other random items like a keyboard and microwave. There will also be a trip to the dump later. It always amazes me just how much crap you slowly collect and you never realize it til you have to move. There is something freeing about getting rid of some of the junk and only keeping what is really necessary. It's as if we we were carrying all that stuff and dropping it off at Goodwill literally took it off our shoulders.
